Corsets!

I loooooove corsets. They are so feminine and flattering and sexy. My girlfriends and I decided this past summer that it would be fun to have a corset night when our hubbies' bands played at the local biker bar. Y'know, dress it up a little bit to have a little fun in an environment that we weren't used to being in. It just so happened to also be a biker dudes reunion of some kind that same weekend. So to say that we stuck out like sore thumbs all glammed up in our foxy corset outfits would be an understatement. It was fun.

The weeks leading up to that evolved into what I like to call The Big Corset Hunt. I bought corsets. A LOT of corsets. I bought animal print, lace overlay, leather, satin, mandarin-inspired, red ones, black ones, silver ones, pink ones, ivory ones polka dotted ones, single lace up, double lace up, front laced, front busk closure.... It was like a goddamn boudoir session had exploded in my bedroom. It was fabulous.

In the end, I chose to wear a silver corset with black lace overlay. It was hot. I loved it. It's probably still my favourite one, next to the one I wore this weekend to another show the guys had.

This is the only decent shot I got of the lace overlay from this summer:

Ya all the bikers liked it too. Hehe. And if we all weren't so busy hiding at our table by the stage I'm sure they would have told us, too...

My other fav would have to be the pink and black one I wore the other night. It was really pretty how it kept catching the light.

Pretty hair to go with pretty corset

Back view of corset and awesome jeans!
Wore with over the knee black boots

There are tons more where that came from, but those are my two favourites.

Statement Necklace

Lovin' this statement necklace I picked up from Avon! Decided to keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the necklace shine so I wore it with thigh high boots (purchased from Sears 3-4 years ago), a burn out tee(Bluenotes) and black skinny jeans (also Bluenotes).

'Tis the Season!

Well ladies, it's December and we all know what that means, right? Christmas parties! Endless opportunities to dress up and pig out! Oh yes. I was doing a little Christmas shopping today and while searching the men's side of Bootlegger I accidentally fell upon this sweet lace dress. Besides the fact that it fits SO small that I almost had a fucking hernia trying to get a MEDIUM off (fml I haven't been a medium since shortly after my son was born ugh). I'm not even kidding. I even thought to myself as I struggled in vain to get this son of a bitchin' thing off that I was glad I wasn't wearing my ugly panties just in case I actually had to get the sales girl to wrestle it off of me....Isn't it cute, though? I know we aren't supposed to buy stuff for ourselves during the season but I did need a new dress to wear to one of my many parties this month. And this is one I had been admiring on Pinterest for some time so when I found it at Below the Belt for $60?! I was like wow. Dude. Yes.

JEANS

I have a bit of a reputation as a jean queen. Rightly so...I had more than 50 pairs at one point. I decided to donate many of them but still have a great collection. Some of my favourite brands are Rock Revival (which I have mentioned in a few posts), William Rast, Silver Jeans (a Canadian jean company), True Religion and Miss Me.

I'm going to post some pics of my favourite jeans with links to some that are still available. In no particular order:

I just love the gold stitching on these jeans. It looks awesome with warmer toned tops. These Rock Revival Cecilia jeans can be purchased here.

The William Rast jeans I got on clearance for 75% off a year or two ago so the best I could find was a pair on ebay found here.

These are the closest I could find for the True Religion jeans. They are a little lighter wash than mine and the leg may be a bit wider at the bottom. Mine are almost a skinny jean but I can fit them over a pair of heels if I need to. Check them out here.

The Silver's are easily a few years old. Silvers just seem to wear really well. In fact my oldest pair is about 7 years old and I still love them as much as when I first bought them.  I would say this pair is my most comfortable pair of jeans by FAR. They are just so soft, it feels like you are wearing sweat pants. And you can't go wrong when that happens! Your best bet would be to find the style (Tuesday) and look for a similar wash. These are really close here.

The Miss Me's are a newer style that I came across in Bootlegger a few years ago. I really like the heavy quality of their jeans. They are probably my second most comfortable fitting jeans and I would say they fit a little looser than the rest of the jeans with the exception of the William Rast which I almost always go down a size in. I found a pair of the Miss Me's that are almost exactly like mine and they can be viewed here.

I don't know what the hell happened to all my pictures to make them rotate the wrong direction...and I am not going to spend any amount of time figuring it out either. So if you have an iPad or other tablet type computer to view this then rotate away. The rest of you suckers can just crane your necks around like emus or whatever those damn birds are called.

Which are your favourite pair of jeans that you own? What jeans are on your wishlist?

Casual outfit & classic hair

Here's an outfit wearing one of my many pairs of lovely Rock Revival jeans. I own several pairs - they are flattering and comfortable and not to mention stylish. This pair has gold stitching. Tres cool.

And just a shot of my hair. I love that it is starting to grow out again. I've always had long blonde wavy hair with no bangs so this look is quite different for me.

Outfit of the Day

By request of the stallion. Ripped jeans animal print and tall black boots. Channeling my inner biker chick hahaha. Oh she's in there...funny story actually. I took this motorcycle safety course offered at my workplace. I totally kicked ass at it the first day. I was drivin' it like I owned it. Then this chick dumped her bike right in front of me and reality set in. What the fuck did I want to know how to ride a motorcycle for? I already have my own personal driver. I could kind of get the whole freedom and wind in your hair thing but when it comes down to it I just don't trust the other people on the road. I still like to ride and had an absolute blast going on our 2nd annual bike trip to the Rockies and I think that's enough for me. Enough about hogs. And back to clothes. What's your favorite inner/alternate style you find yourself enjoying?

Fabulous finds

Ok, so I don't know about you gals but I am always proud to admit that I bought something at Walmart when I get complimented on an accessory. And it happens often.

Today I had to go pick up a few things for the stinker's stocking stuffer (that's my angel boy not the Stallion bahaha) and I decided to make a pit stop in the jewelry/scarf/bag department and I had to exhibit exceptional restraint, lemme tell ya.

Exhibit A:

Pleather jeweled skull bag. Like are you kidding me? At Wallyworld?? I know I'm going to regret not making that purchase. Oh who the hell am I kidding I'm already regretting it....goddamit.

My reasoning is that it's too small. I need a large bag to carry all my crap and it just wouldn't cut it and it would just sit in my closet.

But alas. It sure is hot.

Never mind all the other cute accessories. I did end up purchasing one item - a gold flower ring. Quite lovely. Not sure I like how friggin old my hands look wow.

Anywho. I am just loving my outfit today. It was inspired by one I saw of posh spice on Pinterest that I will put a link to later (I'm mobile blogging right now cuz I'm a complete loser and couldn't find anything else to do while waiting for my nail appointment. Thats right bitches I'm blogging in my car! Oh I think I promised I wouldn't call you that anymore. Never again. I swear.)

So back to my fabulous outfit. Blazer was a great find from Suzy Shier for like $20. Ripped up black skinnies from Urban Planet for $24.99. I'm not gonna lie when I saw those jeans my heart stopped. Never ever do I find something exactly like I having been hoping for unexpectedly in the tiny city I live it. Just doesn't happen. So I was beyond excited.

And when my little angel told me this morning "mama you look perfect", I knew the outfit was good. Cuz the kid has impeccable taste for a 5 year old boy lemme tell ya...

So here's the outfit:

Peace out ladies. I will post pics of my nails later. You are gonna shit bricks. Wait for it. xo
